Creating in Web 2.0? [101.13]

In the world of user-generated content, each one of us is capable of becoming an overnight sensation. As we observe, discuss, and analyze Web 2.0, we will start to unravel what it means to live in Web 2.0. But mostly—as this is above all a writing course—from the first day of class, we will compose an exploration of the many forms and types of media that make up our daily experiences. In doing so, we will compose a living record of the what it means to create and compose in Web 2.0.

Remix

Original

I chose this remix because now you have two fan base coming together. The fan base of "Young The Giant" and "Two Door Cinema Club". Through this maybe sales went up or popularity of the two bands. Also "My Body" is not a type of song people dance to. Its meant to be heard but with this remix it adds Techno and the dancers at clubs or parties can actually dance to this song. Eventually, increasing fans.

Look at the production of the remix, Emranul. How is it similar or dissimilar to the original. Does a remix like this one actually increase fans? How exactly?

The beats are different but the singer is still the same. Those are the beats of another band called *Two door cinema club". They remixed the version so it would be listened by different genre groups. The fans increase because they are exposed to different types of music. The song was alternative the remix was techno. Most of the comments were positive feedback from both groups of genre techno and alternative. Quoting "Why did no one tell me about them" and "I love this Version"
