This is an example of how technology can help us deal with web-based distractions.
A lot of the ads on the webpages we visit are written in Flash. So, if you download and install a flash blocker, such as FLASHBLOCK, into your Firefox browser you'll be able to block a lot of those pesky ads!
Do you have any tips for dealing with distractions on the internet?
I would love to see how everyone deals with remembering what they were doing before they got distracted. I, for one, have several tabs open but I keep my attention on one tab at a time. I usually read FanFiction online and when I finish a paragraph, chapter, or phrase I then would switch tabs or windows. Like, if I'm watching a movie and a friend decides to IM me, I would ignore it. No offense to my friends I can always talk to them later! The IM window is not going anywhere and there isn't a conversation yet, plus your friend will understand if you apologize for replying late!
ReplyDeleteOh, by the way I have Ad. Block Plus to block those annoying ads! But is Flash Block better?
