In the world of user-generated content, each one of us is capable of becoming an overnight sensation. But mostly—as this is above all a writing course—from the first day of class, we will compose an exploration of the many forms and types of media that make up our daily experiences. In doing so, we will compose a living record of the what it means to create and compose in Web 2.0.
For those who have seen the movie 300 know for a fact this was a super action packed movie that was released in the year 2006 in my opinion the movie was great I'm sure others would agree. Through out the whole movie the part in which King Leonidas kicks off the messenger off the edge while yelling "MADNESS? THIS IS SPARTA!!!" has became famous many have gotten a kick out of it maybe they thought it was amusing or they just love to see a man yell so ferociously and kick another off something with such power,anger and authority. Even though this scene is pretty violent people have found ways to make it a bit more enjoyable and humorous like the remix of this scene below.

Here is one of the many remixes that I found on youtube. The maker of this video took different internet clips and added king leonidas head to the people or objects in the video he also added some techno music to go along with the whole "this is sparta" statement which made it humorous, further entertaining and appealing to someone who is looking for a good laugh.
I chose this video and its remix because I found it interesting how they took someones sadness and turned it into something completely different. In the video we see a man named Chris Crocker sharing his raw emotion towards Britney Spears and her situation. Many people thought that this mans obsession with her was funny and decided to make remixes out of it. Instead of it being sad they created a song from it using some parts of the video. They used a popular remix song by Britney Spears and added some colors to make the video more appealing to others. In the remix video, his message is shortened and straight to the point in comparison to the original video in which he goes more into detail about how he feels. Both videos have gotten many views but people are still more attracted to the original video. Nevertheless, the remix worked because it did what it was suppose to do which was to change some aspects of the video, like the order in which it was in at first, but still manage to keep its main message intact.
I absolutely love this commercial. It shows how an original can easily turn into a remix. Charles Barkley was commenting on a game, cool and dre (producers) thought it was funny and decided to expand on what he said. The expansion then turned into a hit song. This wasn’t happening in real life but after t-mobile branded and marketed it, it really became a hit, now I may be wrong…but I doubt it lol (from the song)
Remixes are important because it show how might someone view a situation like this from a different point of view or maybe people just find remixes to be another sense of humor.
i chose this video because me and my friends thought it was hilarious. The characters fighting in the game are funny but the commentary of the people in the background (the players) is hilarious,or at least me and all of my friends think it is. As for the remixed version it is hilarious. There are many remixes of the original version on a variety of videos which shows the versatility of the video (or at least the videos audio) and how easily something can be spread that has nothing to do with what you were searching for. an example being the power rangers remix. You wouldn't typically see power rangers coupled with audio from the Wombo Combo video.

This is a remix of one of my favorite songs. The remix of Plain White T's "Rhythm of Love" is a slower version of the original. It was done by someone who put a lot of effort into making the remix but he decided to add a little twist to the remix by changing the beat of the song. He did so by changing it from a somewhat upbeat song to one that is calm and a little slower than the original. This person utilized his guitar as both the drums and the guitar that was needed to do the remix.The remix does not have much of a video, it's just a guy singing in front of his computer whereas the original shows a bunch of kids having fun at the beach then a bonfire and the setting was not in the twentieth first century. Both videos had the same message i.e. Love is what makes the world go around.
With the first video you can see the basic setting, in a small room and you can see everyone who's part of the band playing their instrument. Everything but the lyrics differs from the original. They use instruments which makes the song come out much better than the digital ones in the original. In the original video it shows Nicki Minaj dancing , sitting in a ice sculpture of a motorcycle or in a pink swimming pool, all these extravagant things to catch the viewer's attention. With the remix it is very simplistic, nothing much goes on, nothing to really catch your attention. Just this makes the message, with the remix you can focus on the song and how much talent these people have. The original is all very transparent. In the remix the song ends up coming out good even though the lyrics are pretty shallow but the singer/rapper makes it seem as though it's genuine. With the original it's more about the media, no message is being sent out to the listener. With the original you can't really see the singer's talent compared to the remix.
The remix I chose, was made by a performer who remixes popular songs in a comedic way. The original video is "Gangster's Paradise" by Coolio.
The remix to this is "Amish Paradise" by Weird Al Yankovich.
There are several different reasons for why I chose this video. First because it is hysterical, everything he says is so perfectly in sync and on point with the original. Another reason is because I have been watching Weird Al video's for years, and I thought his music were perfect examples of a remixed video. In every song he makes, the whole song always falls together and you can't help but find yourself singing along with it, especially in this one. Every lyric he speaks is relevant to his joke, and every line he says flows with the real version. I personally believe his video's work in every way, they catch your attention and make you want to listen to it again.
The original video is the press conference held by Obama on the death of Osama Bin Laden. The remix is a parody of the press conference. The remix differs from the original because it's in song form. The user uses photo shop and other tools to give him the same background as the original video. The video has the same message as the original just in different format.
This hilarious video is of a young boy as he comes from the dentist. His father is recording him and he complains that he cant see anything and lets out a loud scream. He also complauns that he feels funny and asks if he has stitches and tries to touch them. His reactions to me were veryfunny. The user that created the remix adds a beat to the video and makes everything the boy sayd into a little funny song. I chose this video because i thought it was very humorous. I think everything works for the remix the beat and the way they kept repeating what the boy says in the original. This song was so interesting it became a song on itunes!
As we all know Rihanna & Chris Brown got into a domestic altercation. The original video is one of the songs that was remixed in the remix video. In the remix video titled Rihanna's Revenge, it basically shows the retaliation against Chris. They remixed songs from both artist and turned every song into a violent remix.
I'm pretty sure everyone has seen this classic Youtube video that has attracted more than 370 million views. Some might wonder what is so fascinating about this video of a toddler and a baby and I do wonder too but the point is it is very likable. What is so fascinating about the remix is not only that it's the same video just "redone" but the amount of views it has gotten. The original video has almost 375 million views but the remix has about 38 million which is still a lot! The original is just a regular funny video but the remix is somewhat of a song. There is a lot of visual and eye-catching aspects of the remix that has gained it so much attention. Instead of it being just a plain original video clip, the remix has incorporated visual effects and syncopated speech to the video to make it the same video but in a whole different genre. Although the remix and the video go hand it hand since the plot is the same, but they are not a like in the sense that one is a song the other is a homemade video. It is just like in a song, the remix can become a whole different song because other features such as a underlying beat are added making it fall under a whole different category. It is the same in this video, the visuals and the song-like feature have made it pleasing to the ear and it does not really focus on the content of the video as the original does.

I chose this remix because now you have two fan base coming together. The fan base of "Young The Giant" and "Two Door Cinema Club". Through this maybe sales went up or popularity of the two bands. Also "My Body" is not a type of song people dance to. Its meant to be heard but with this remix it adds Techno and the dancers at clubs or parties can actually dance to this song. Eventually, increasing fans.
This remix is done by a 7 year old boy who raps and displays his talent to the world. i find that it is remarkable how this child is fulfilling his dream to become a rapper at such an young age. the elements that attract viewers like myself to watch this video is the idea of a 7 year old kid rapping, and actually being good at it. In this video, the boy, MattyBRaps, is singing his own version of the song "Like a G6" by FarEast Movement. he is using autotune and music video type aspects to create this video.
This video differs from the original video is by the context of which it is displayed. MattyBRaps made this song his own by giving a more juvenile behavior and lyrics. The video only features him in different environments and conveys a playful message. I think people who are familiar with this song will be quite entertained.
