In the world of user-generated content, each one of us is capable of becoming an overnight sensation. As we observe, discuss, and analyze Web 2.0, we will start to unravel what it means to live in Web 2.0. But mostly—as this is above all a writing course—from the first day of class, we will compose an exploration of the many forms and types of media that make up our daily experiences. English hw remix video
I pick this video because i find it to be funny, but before i get into more details i will give you a little background on what it is. This video is a parody of the music video "run this town" by rihanna, jay z and kanye west and consist of what you would call "look alikes" performing in various scenes but in the order the original singers did but the only diffrence is they are making fun of an incident where chris brown allegedly beat up his girlfriend rihanna. I also picked this video because it was unique for example the way they portraied chirs brown was to be sort of a jerk because he hits women and then make excuses that he dont remember it. This may not be the truth but when people saw this video the actually thought that was the type of person he is. My point is that its amazing how one video can alter the way people look or view you. One thing that i didnt find working in this video is that it was'nt accurate, i know that it was meant to be funny be the video was primarily based on speculation and people own perspectives.

Good analysis, Keon. I am familiar with the song and have seen a few other remixes, such as this one http://youtu.be/l2zGNopB1WQ.
ReplyDeleteThe portrayal of Chris Brown in this video represents what sort of cultural norm that we accept or expect from society?
I'm not sure I understand your point about the speculation in the video, could you elaborate on that point?
